Just bought a new bike. Was looking at Norco, but ended up ordering a Santa Cruz Superlight. Can't wait to get home and ride it!

oh man i want one so bad....its such a sweet bike, the 2003 model looks awesome too...but i cant really afford £650 at the mo, as soon as i have a job i will be getting one...hopefully that will be b4 the summer is over!! I will also be needing some new gear to go with the bike actually, some SPD's and new shoes....as well as a camelbak or somin similar....so i will be spending in excess of £700+ perhaps over £800 including a lock and stuff (my last bike got stolen so i will be getting a much more expensive lock this time) Man i cant wait to get out in the forest and trails again....its been a while but the Kona does look soooooo damn sweeeeeeeeet....oh man....anyone wanna buy one for me :D

I've been riding a cheap pair of wellgo spd's on my singlespeed for a few years now and they aren't too bad ... nice and cheap too. I'm going to give some eggbeaters a shot with the new bike though. Gonna have to get a pair of platforms and pads too (lots of North Shore stuff around where I live.)
Good luck finding a place to pick up the frame :)

hrm yeah i was looking at some eggbeaters, but i am kinda used to SPD's now so i think i will stick with them...tho i guess it wouldnt take too long to adjust to the beaters....i think i will stick with Shimano SPD's but my cannondale shoes are a little beat up so i think i will have to get a new pair...

i've had a lot of luck with merlin and "les's discount cycles" <- and yes i know how dodgy that sounds.

les is in the docklands if he's still trading and merlin is online.. best bet is to grab a copy of MBUK and trawl through the ad's

got MBUK, having a look through, no one seems to do discounted prices...everywhere seems to have the NuNu for £650...so tempted to buy it on overdraft...but including other bits of kit i am looking at £800 as i sed...not sure if i can do that to my bank account :(

Just bought myself a new front wheel and disc brake from Merlin. I can highly recommend them, used them loads without a problem.

NuNus a nice bike, but if you can, wait untill you've got a job, then get a really nice one :) Christ knows how much i've spend on bike bit ans accessorys over time.

i'm not a massive fan of full sus bikes, the best i have ridden was a customized Orange that one of my mates had but that cost a pretty penny...or a few thousand as the case may be....

almost forgot... ebay, that where i got mine form, absolute bargain is was too. You do often see high quality bikes there for very reasonable prices, so keep an eye on it.
