Hi guys,

I found a dually Pentium Pro...something here at work. I want to get it running, but I can't find a single 72p SIMM anywhere in this building, although i have a box full of 36p ram.

I would love for anyone to donate some old SIMMS to me. Ill pay shipping, and maybe toss you a few bucks or case badges or something. I'd really love to collect a few hundred megs of ram for this old server, I want to see just how those PPro's fold.

I dont want to spend a lot of money on getting an old dusty hunk of metal running, but if you guys have any spare parts, if you could swing them my way that would be great!

16 banks! holy crap. let me ask LSCGT if he has any left. after stripping 40 workstations from a high school dumpster (cool find!) he should have some left. most were 4 meg chips but there were some 16's tossed in.
ill get back to ya on that. i'm trying to get him to come to the lan party next sat.

i have 20 sticks of 4's 8's and 16's ill bring to lan party.
all i saw so far was 60ns. some have single side some double sided. some silver contacts and some gold. page through what you want, the rest ill give back cuz i NEVER want to go slower than 133 again, i'm too spoiled now!!

Synth, Wes, I'm still very short on RAM. I need 72p EDO/FPM and I need SDRAM PC100/PC133 as well for the boards Ruantic sent me. So any ram you want to mail me/bring to the party would be awesome. I have a use for any ram I can get with all these old machines to refurbish.

No, all the SIMM slots (god its weird typing simm) are on the one board. I dont have the thing home yet, but Ill be sure to get some pics :)

I shouldnt say 16 banks...16 slots maybe hehe.

Hey Attitudx, did you get a chance to send out that edo? I've received dozends of edo sticks from the lan party donations. I still want to make sure i mix and match with the best ram, as most of the sticks i have are still small. Oh, and let me know if you got the case badges okay.

I've processed my parts pile a little, I still have need of the following items:

Video Cards - AGP or PCI, 2-3 of them, good 2d quality, just enough to not drive my poor eyes in to seisures ;)

Hard Drives - I threw out my old ones for some reason! Or I can't find them. Id like some 5400rpm, 2.0g or better drives.

RAM - I'm still looking for ANY/ALL SDR/DDR I can get my hands on. Because of the nature of webservers, and our insane web traffice, I need the most memory I can get. I would like to have at least 768m in the webservers. I should be okay in terms of 72 edo now, unless someone has 16m or greater sticks (id love a few 32m sticks).

I plan on building 3 new servers. The first will be a spare webserver based on the KX7 I bought from Mike and probably a Duron 1100 I got from Ruantic. I have no DDR for this system, but have a 400w PSU and a 60g 60GXP for it. I think I'll use the Geforce card from Mike in this. The second server will be a P3 800 based webserver dedicated to running the new DC Stats program (it needs its own pc at this level of growth). It will have at least 512m of SDR, and two 4g 5400 drives in RAID0 mode. I need a video card for it, but everything else should be set. The third box will be another P3 box with SDR. It will probably use a 2.5g 4500rpm drive, and will probably function as a dedicated DNS server. The three servers listed will probably all be hosting game servers of some sort. Depends on how much power we have left over.

Anyway, I still need these old parts. I have a extremely small budget, but I might be able to trade something for these parts. PM me if you are interested in helping us out with donations, or at least by making me a deal.

after digging thru numerous boxes I have found a few sticks I dont know where the lot of them went so Today I will have them sent out as I have one more box to go thru. I know i have atleast 4 16meg sticks in the bunch.

Got the case badges they are pretty cool will get the ram out today after i look in the box where the big sticks should be.....

no problem at all sorry for the delay and answer i was down for 3 days with food poision mixed with an ulcer and a touch of flu like stuff. and i dont have internet right now at home so i answer from work but they shall send today :)
