Admins, Mods and Sponsored Members!

In light of the new server we now have, I have gone ahead and set up a little dedicated FTP. My thought was that this would be an exclusive feature for the contributers to this site so that we could all share files, etc. Why wait to download 3dmark or go trudging through site after site looking for a game patch, when you can log on to LN.com's FTP and download it directly? I think this could be pretty cool once we get it going.

If you are a qualified member, and would like an FTP account to this server, please email me and I will set it up. Here are some initial rules, and we will adjust these as needed:

1.) Please contribute! Feel free to upload patches, utilities, drivers, as the more people who contribute, the more there will be for people to download. I dont want to have to enforce 'ratio downloading', so please upload.

2.) Please help to keep the FTP organize, use or create folders for organization. Please remame filenames to something that other people can quickly understand.

3.) Please only upload files that can be of use to others, not just personal files you need to transfer. We do not allow the deletion of files in order to prevent personal files from being uploaded. (Administrators will have deletion rights).

4.) Please do not share your FTP log in. This is for members only, and I will keep tabs on which accounts are being abused and deactivate them. We don't have enough bandwidth to give everyone access. You are certainly welcome to use your login from any machine you happen to be at though.

4a.) Do not link to files on the FTP externally. You will of course be sharing your account to do this, so it ties in to #4. If you need web access, contact me and we might beable to set something else up.

5.) Large Warez Apps and DivX movies are prohibited. MP3s, Roms, and pr0n might be tolerated in small doses. Beta apps and smaller apps are tolerated too. If you have questions regarding what is kosher with this 'grey-area' policy, let me know.

6.) Users with FTP access have Bulk Upload access to the Gallery as well. Feel free to use this.

We'll see how things go and how these rules work out. The FTP will be limited at 256k, with 2 simultanious connections per user permitted. Upload space will be limited to a handful of gigs for now, and really isn't an issue.
