Heh, my mom's going to Boston this weekend. Guess who's having a BBQ? :)
I'm in the NY metro area about 8 min out of the city. I avoid the place like the plauge but it probally has soemthing to do with my proximity to it.
It depends of what they like to do. The City (NYC) is semi-organized chaos. More than enough things to do, you name it, you can get it/do it in NYC. You can also, with a little travel, go to the woods. If they rent a car a trip up the palisades is a wonderful time.
There is also Jersey. Wonderful resturants that imho are better than most in NY. Yes, there is more to New Jersey than just mobsters and garbage (thou there is a fair ammount bolth here)
It really depends on if they have a rental car or they want to stay close to the city. There's more than enough to do in the city.
If you tell me what your parents and interested in I can give more ideas.

Hi and thanks for the help on this one.
Ive been doing some research etc into it as well and come up with some pretty good stuff.
Basically they're looking at just a short week (4-5 days) away and dont want to do much traveling, I was gonna take them to Cali where I know some places but its too far, my mum doesnt travel well and really they want some short distance things to do.
I guess they'd be getting a hotel sort of in the city and use the subway / taxi to get to places so anything within the major tourist areas is great.
Thanks again :O]
