The LAN's about 3 weeks away and I have to set up the server.

So wat games are we playing?

1: UT03
2: Jedi Knight 2
3: SoF 2
4: Quake 3
5: BF 1942 ?
6: MoH?

any other ideas? We should probally keep it to a few. Too many and we'll loose playing time. :)

By the time the LAN happens RTCW Enemy Territory will be available so that will be an awesome game too.

Haven't even heard of that one.

Anyone going to the lanparty should have all the games installed before going there. With all the latest patches. THat way we have more time to play and less worry about installing, patching, fighting IP problems, etc :)

Headphones if you want them...personally, I will bringing my desktop speakers and sub like last year. It was great with all the noise cranking :)

Youll need your whole PC, mon, kb/mous, powerstrips, your longest enet cable possible, extension cords. We'll try to have extra...but...i encourage everyone to make a list and double check it. Dont forget things like ATX power cables and stuff. And try to bring extra for others who might forget.

Hmm... I just wasn't sure if we can be noisy, maybe i'll bring the klipschs.... I do have an older pair of creatives in the basement though.

I spent some time this weekend prepping Project Holy for some lan party duty. I guess I'll install all the major games I have and some patches. Frankily, I'd be happy playing UT03 all day.

Does anyone want to play an older game like Half-Life, or maybe Counterstrike?

Anyway, I dont think it matters the number of games we get in. Id rather play fewer games and do more maps. I think we changed games too frequently at the last party. This meant that we spent more time adjusting and installing games than playing.

Maybe we should just pick 4-5 games and stick to those?

i need to get there early to install some games. what my better half dosent know yet is i'm buying 2 80 gig 8mb hdd's for a fresh install. if the new bios opened up a second raid channel, i will have 2 raid sets when im done OR ill keep the air AMD going with the orig drives. gotta get wet this week. i guess all im waiting for are 2 more hdd's and a phillips head screw driver!!:D

CompUSA has 160g no-name 8meg drives on sale for $99. Not too bad if you're thinking of buying some storage.

While you're out buying some drives buy some games too. ;)
I have to pick up 2 or 3 for the LAN.

I don't think I'll have the new system up and running for the LAN. I just did the resivour today and all I need is some 1" i.d. hose and another set of springs and I should be good to go. I'm not rushing it thou. It's been a while since I broke something so I'm due and I'd rather not have it before the LAN.

So far the game list is UT03, BF1942, SoF2, and Quake3 (when I can find my disk). I'll probally put JKII and a few other games on. RTCW is installed allready and I'd really like to get Wolf:ET but I can't d/l the damn thing. File planet sucks a big penis in my eyes right now. :(
