The DSL Router I have running the whole LN.com site has been flaking out under the increased traffic load. I'm taking my lunch money and going to Best Buy today to get a new pro-grade firewall/router for the server.
There will be some downtime associated with the new router installation today.
The downtime experienced earlier today was the result of the afforementioned 3com 812 router flaking out again. It has been doing this a lot lately.
Any donations for this hardware upgrade would be GREATLY appreciated right now, as this unplanned expense will hurt my budget unless I can help split the cost. Unfortunately, in the light of trying to make LN.com as stable as possible, the router upgrade has to happen asap, so I have to go out and spend more money.
Thanks for any help guys :)

Thanks for the help guys. Im so happy that I received such a positive responce. I went out and got the router, although I won't specify which one for security purposes. I should definitely clear up the issues. Ill try to keep the downtime to a minimum as I install the new router.
Thanks again, ill be sure to put all donations to excellent use :)

Hi Slide and all,
We really appreciate any and all contributions made to the site.
Not a penny goes for anything other than site hardware and software.
Most folks do not know what the costs are for a site operation on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
With that said, again would like to thank all contributors for helping us out in a crisis.
Take care.........

I remember trying to set up a dial up bbs back in the late 80's. Was in my late teens back then and my parents didn't want to shell out the bucks for a couple extra phone lines for people to dial into, so the idea got scrapped. bbs's and forums are one of the few things that keep the internet personal and enjoyable for me. Anything I can do to help the community.

What is it with me and DNS? This new Router can't handle all the DNS requests either! I guess I have to take it back and get a larger one!
Oi. Might be some more downtime this week. Sorry. Cant help it.
