Take some of the parts you have at home, and build a couple more crunchers.

Actually, the price of mobos and CPUs now, you can make one for $200.00 bucks. I mean a 1.4 TBird, not a slow system.

Food for thought.

Sell your slow systems to non SETI friends and take the money and put together a screamer and SETI your heart out.
A 1.4 Birdy should do 6 to 8 units a day.

Two of my systems run the TBird 1.4 and they are running at 1704.
Well, at the moment, a little less cause of the heat outside, no, inside.....Hotter than hell.........

TBirdy 1.4 will do a WU about every 4 to 4.5 hours.

I just broke down and bought an XP1800. How many hours u think i can squize a WU out? Like 3-4hrs? Hav'nt decided if i want the Kx7 or i was thinkin about Aopens Ak77. I want something w/onboard sound. In a week or two i'll be cacthing up quicker!!

If ya run it stock, bout 4 hours.

Kick it in the butt, get 3.5 per.

That is what I have on my main system, an XP1800+ running at XP2200+ speed and I am averaging about 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 per.

I ended up goin with aopens ak-77-333. I also got a 500w psu from compgeeks.com, i don't know how good it will be but it was kinda cheap at $47. Now i just wish that newegg had my case.

You deffinately want to have a big cache.
Borkeley has a bad habit of being down a lot, so cover your actions.
Keep a large supply of WU's in reserve, just for situations like this.
