Hey all...
Trying to rework the network so I can actually host games instead of just playing them. ATM I'm going for
modem -> me (bridged connection) -> router (to computer) -> switch (to other computer)
'Cept I don't know anything about networking or bridged connections or anything :( Neither of the other computers are networked... cant get online, cant see me... nothing.
Any advice/help?

Drake,..
I'm not the best person to answer this I'm sure,. but if you happen by before any one else,. I think we may need a little more info first.
From what I read,. it seems the modem is not attached directly to your router??
Is this cable/dsl or an internal dial up modem?
You have PCs hooked up to the switch,. and yet you have no visible networked connections,.. correct?
What OS?
Win98 I can walk you through it easy,. WinXP,. for me a little tougher,. but is bet someone else can talk you through it.
Let us know what you got

:( WinXP on this system, Win98SE on laptop, and Win2k on the third
The modem is cable, and no, not attached to any router.
No PC can see one another (this was a problem before I tried this setup, too)

O-kay assuming they are all hooked up,.. lets first try and get your PCs "seeing" eachother.
first try the XP machine with the internet connection,..
Start,
Settings,
Network connections,
click on "Network Setup wizard."
Click Next. (I love XPs fun little extra steps ! )
Select "this computer connects directly ..." at the top ; next
select your Local Area Connection,.. (it should list your 10/1000 card)
Name your PC (you can ignore the description)
Type a workgroup name. This should be the same on all your PCs
Once that is done you weill need to enable file sharing on your PC.
Click on My computer.
Right click on a drive you wish to share.
Click YES ,.. then on the sharing tab check "Share this drive/folder on the network"
That done,.. you may have to reboot,... One PC should now be ready to roll.
Youll have to do the same on a second PC,.. only instead of "this computer connects directly to the internet" select the one that lets you connect through the first PC,.. ?
Repaet all the steps,.. be sure and remeber to share a folder or drive,. than the two should talk to eachother.

Oops,..
okay,.. the second system try the Win 98se
do this.
Start
settings
control panel... click "network" icon
Is your 10/100 card listed??? If not you need to install the drivers.
If so,.. highlight it,. and click the "add" button.
Select "protocol",.. "add"
Select "Microsoft" in left pane and "TCP-IP" in right pane,... "OK"
Don't restart yet.
Back in the first "Network" window;
Click "File and Printer sharing"
Check those that apply,.. obviously at least share your files.
Again,.. don't restrt yet.
Select the Identification tab
Name this PC,. and use the same workgroup name you udsed in the first set up.
"okay"
Don't restart!
My computer,. and then right click a drive select "sharing" and set it as you want,.. read only or full. For now I would select full with no password,... just untiull we get it all workinbg. Later you will want to set a write passwrd to protect yourself.
RESTART!
Now,.. they should talk to eachother :)
Whew....
