It can be done :eek:
One can hand solder two laptop HD's onto an old cut up IDE cable and get them to run on an ATX mobo using a pencil iron and have it work perfectly :confused: That's C and D and still a second IDE socket for cd roms :cool:

I thought laptop drives used a different interface than IDE?

It turns out they are identical to standard drives with only two differences. The (master/slave) jumpers and the power pins (5 volt only) are included in the same connector as the ide pins.

Isn't there a $3.00 conversion part that would eliminate all the soldering???

lol, with the money you saved you can buy a camera that focuses now. or is it my eyes again?

Yep theirs a nice lil converter peice you can buy, but their cheap, we've burnt up numerious ones here at work.
Wish i could see the pics, i just get red X's.

Camera only handles closeups if I put a magnifying glass in front of it :doh:
The money I save is going towards the dually project :cool:
