LN Lan party Part 2

A few months ago LN threw our first LAN party in NJ. For a lot of us it was our first ever LAN and the first time meeting members face to face.

It was a small gathering and I think it went off pretty well even with me in the bag 75% of the time :D Take a look at the pics here (http://www.liquidninjas.com/gallery/lnlan)

Now with the northeast slowly thawing from the latest snowfall I beleive it's time to start planing another LAN. The time frame is late April/ ealry May. Probally a 1 day event starting whenever my arse gets out of bed. :) The last one was held in Northern NJ in Cedar Grove and we had more than enough room but sadly no internet acess.

Seeing as this is still a while away I'm posting this to see how many are interested in coming. While I can't vouch for them I do beleive the same contingent that was the last will be there for this one along with one or two that may be taking a road trip.

The LAN will happen I just have to figure the when/where/how and I want to accmodate all that want to come. If you're interested post here and maybe I can set up a guest list so I can get a handle on how many will be coming. I know we have quite a few members on the northeast so if you're interested I'd like to hear from you.

Also if any members have ideas on locations, help, or anything construtive give a shout to me here or PM me.

With a little help I think we can have quite a rocking LAN. :)

Non-members are welcome too. You can PM me or even better register and post here. Just don't come and steal our gear ;)

Hmm lans are great, let me know on a specific day/time and i'll see what I can do. First I gotta get everything goin here at work for our lan, the lan party is March 15th 2pm if anyone is in the Bryan, Ohio area, let me know.

Cabal packs up computer and tries to lift it, and decides he needs a Lan Party Rig. Damn full tower steel cheiftec and half ton eheim pump...... Second thought i'll look around for a forklift.

Hmm this could be a prob, I don't want everything to be scheduled around me, but I have Baseball games up the wazoo. April 26th (sat) I have a big tourny, That next weekend May 3rd would be prolly my best bet. I can get out of practice no prob, but if i miss a game i'am off the team. April 19th (sat) is also a good weekend, cept I have a game on that following monday.

Well...I don't want everyone scheduling around me either, but it would need to be early May for me to attend too. Not only am I busting ass for my job until April 15, I've got the baby on the way due April 2. I won't be able to scoot away for at least a few weeks after baby comes.

You guys need to pick whats convenient or the majority though. I'll come if I can:)

I'm shooting for early May. I'll look into avaliblity on the 3rd.

I knew that you would need some time after the baby Mike. Give it couple of weeks after the little bundle of joy arrives and you may be wanting to get out of the house. :)

I'm happy that a whole lot of people are interested. I'll do what I can to get everyone's dates in line. I want to keep this as cheap as possible for all involved. If I get the same place it has a full kitchen so food can be brought or ordered.

Hardware shouldn't be an issue. I will be bringing at least 2 boxes maybe three, My router this time:), and a few hubs and switches. As long as everyone brings what they need to get their rigs up and runningwe should be cool. Even in the event of hardware left at home there is compUSA and a best buy within 10 min from the hall.

Not many ppl know what a Lan Party is where i live either. The company I works for webpage describes what one is. I think the only ppl that know what a lan party is works at data eclipse (my place of employment).

i graduate early may...and will be back home in jersey in may...and many other LN folks seem to want to have the LAN Party in May.....so I vote for May as well.

I dunno of places that have internet....but we could probably rent a lodge or something like that from a VFW or American Legion for fairly cheap...probably will be limited to dial up perhaps... i dunno

but could be fairly cheap for a large space.

There are a few pc bong type places in Edision...but i dunno if they would let us bring our own computers.

I'm thinking May too. Going to try for May 3rd I just have to get in touch with the venue to see when they're booked for.

I'm shooting for the fire hall again. At $275 and you bring everything needed for a party as opposed to something like the Ramada Inn that's $300-400 and you can't bring anything (food, Bev) in from outside. The Ramada ends up being a lot more and we may be able to get an outside connection.

Ya could give me a hand Synth, you only live one town over from me :D. I understand it takes great thought and prepration in order to get a playdate for you from you wife (or would that be a day pass from the asylum?) ;)

Sorry I hadn't noticed this thread sooner, but I am definitely interested in attending. Maybe me and Tom can carpool again (Tom?) and perhaps get a few tagalongs with us. I will mark early May in my date book after I pick up a date book from Staples tomorrow.

Ok the only day in May I can get is the 25th. That's memorial day weekend so I'm going to assume that people will have plans for that day.

I'm penciled in for June 7th but I can move it if need be but I don't know what days will be open.

I'm cool with the 7th and as soon as the majority agrees I'll get it. :)
