Burn Out PC (http://www.burnoutpc.com/index.php?page=reviews&review_id=155) has posted a writeup of a card that's getting real scarce.

If you can manage to get your hands on a 9500 that uses the same PCB that the 9700Pro and you're real confident of your soldering skills you can convert it to a 9700Pro. Since ATi has asked for the 9500's based on the 9700 PCB to be pulled it's getting tough to find that card and it's still a chance that the card can't take it.

Here was an option that BulletPC was offering. A pre-moded card ready to go. Too bad the reviewer ran into some issues and I beleive that the card has been pulled from BulletPC's product list. :(

Hello,

I read that the soldering is not neccesary. There is a simple download that will turn your 9500 into a 9700. It's definitely a well spent $200.

I've seen the software hack too. If I had a 9500 I would try it. I have the 9500Pro that I unlocked with the bios. It works wouderful but all the hacks I've seen are just for the 9500 and not the Pro version. :(
