Hi all - pre-orders for this title began today. If you want it nab it QUICK! as you can get a free copy of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Gamecube when you plop down 15$ big ones for the pre-order. I got my copy today, but haven't played it yet.

I never played through Zelda: OoT for N64 so I'm looking forward to it.

:( Xbox here.

Anyone notice how painfully lacking the Xbox is in RPG games  Sure, a few mindless hours of driving warthogs into one another and creating mindless bloodbaths is great, but I haven't found a game that I could play for more than a few hours strait save Morrowind.

/sigh

Panzer Dragoon Orta? That's an RPG? Looks more like Starfox in a different setting to me.

But yeah, that's probably my next game :D.

Speaking of, anyone know of the song they play on there commercial?

If you play sports games NHL 2k3? (sega's one) is my favorite.

Rent the LOTR:TT game if you liked the movie. Game could've been better but it was fun. My friends has Panzer Dragoon but I've yet to play it.

I know it's not for X-box but I can play Hot Shots Golf 3 for hours. Friggin addicting.

Yea, we got LoTR and played it through, but felt no need to rent it again. SSX Tricky and Morrowind are the best games I have. I've also played Halo over GameSpy and it's awesome, but I'm not half as good at that as I am at UT03.

Speaking of, I wonder how UT03 would play with this (http://www.blagged-hardware.net/index.php?index=41)? :D I have a spare (broken) controller laying around that I'd be glad to try out sometime.

That link is great Drake

I seem to kill most PC controlers I have. I've been wanting a way to connect a PS2 controler to my PC but the X-box mod looks a lot easier.

I think I might have to make a trip to wal-mart today :D

EDIT: Let the modding begin :D I just bought myself a 15"usb cable for $4 here at work.. goin to get me an xbox controller after work.

I would recommend the Xbox Controller S (microsoft small one). Most third-party manufacturers have a bad rep about contorllers only lasting a few months before crapping out. Mine hasn't died yet, and it's the second oldest of the bunch. The one that came with my Xbox did die, however... go figure.

Anywho, if the PS2 controller suits you I've seen PS2 to USB converters at RadioShack, but I would like the do-it-yourself path better.

Drake,
U know about how much one of them run?

I'm guessing $35, but it could be as high as $45. Definitely under $50, though.

The last controller we bought (MadCatz MicroCon) was $30, and the S controller was $35. I like the MicroCon, but it is extremely small, almost smaller than GC controllers! It was the only one out that was closer to the S controller with the macro function, though. One button combos in fighting games make it worth it :D

I'll prob just go with a standard xbox controller.

Update: only thing to do now is solder, and I'll have mine done. It's a bit tricky for me, considering I've only had negative encounters with soldering irons in the past, but I plan to change that :D

Also, I almost missed the part where the dull black wire from the controller should be connected to the USB cable sheilding. Ack, that coulda been bad.

Grrr! Everything is soldered, XP recognizes the device, the drivers install flawlessly... but I can't access the config file? I spent hours browsing the site but can't seem to find it anywhere... it seems that it comes with the driver package.
