Thanks sptw, There is a lot of there that I was looking for. :)

I'm new to this so I'm in the process of figuring out what format to use either DivX (MPEG-4) or SVCD (MPEG-2)

I downloaded DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc and will give it a go
