ralf: i was looking at your pics of your bleed and fill system and it looked great.. i was wondering if you could tell me how you made it and if it works good and stuff.. looks like it would work great!
i just saw your post in my other tread.. do you think you could take a few pics of your whole setup for me.
and is it ok that your bleed/fill is on the side of your case like that and not at the top of your system?

sure bud. i made it from parts you can find at home depot
i don't know the exact part name but i'll give it my best shot
parts list
one pvc t theaded 1/2 in all ports (used in lawn sprinclers)
two 1/2 thread to 3/8 hosebar fittings( brass)
one ball type brass valve 1/4 threaded or the 1/2 threaded
one pvc 1/2 treaded elbow ( one side shoul be female and the-other should be male.[ this part is not really nessesary])
one 1/2 male thread to 1/4 female thread brass reducer
one 1/4 to close thread ( male to male)
one 1/4 thread to 3/8 hosebar fitting ( brass)
i have enough parts to buld an extra that i want to use in a future wc sys, i'll go dig'um up and i'll post a pick of the all parts here a little latter

after the valve you have like 6 feet of tubing then what is at the end of the tubing anything?
and im using 1/2" tubing.. so just change all the 3/8 to 1/2 im assuming

at the end of the valve you mentioned there is a tank with extra fluid (totaly needless so i'll remove the tank and tubing and just leave the valve and hosebar). yes change the 3/8 for 1/2 but you will need a 3/8 thread valve, a 3/8 male to close , a 1/2 male thread to 3/8 female reducer, and a 3/8 thread to 1/2 hosebar, you will need those part insted of the smaller parts because home depot does not carry 1/4 thead to 1/2 hosebar or you can ditch those parts and got to a plumbing only store that carries 1/4 thread to 1/2 hosebar.
here is the pick

forgot to mention that the part to right of the valve is actualy two parts ( 1/2 male thread to 1/4 female thread reducer and 1/4 male thread to close), i couldn't unscrew them loose so i took the a pick like that and also couln't find the elbow but you don't really need it, you can just mount the airtrap a little higher and put a fitting in the elbow's place and run the hose to the pump in.

i don't really understand the 1/4 to close.. like what does close mean.. is it just a connector that ends it (like a cap)? and if so, how do you fill and bleed your system with this..

sorry im asking some many questions.. i just want to get it right so i don't ruin anything or have to do it 10 times before it works..

sorry for the confusion. if you look closely at the part to right of thr valve, you will notice there is some teflon tape that part that looks smaller is the "close", its just a verry short rod ( about 1 inch) that is threaded at both ends, the biger part is the reducer wich is threaded at 1/2 male on the out side and on the inside it is threaded at 1/4 female, at that 1/4 female thread you need to schrew the close in, after that you will have a 1/4 male thread and thats where the valve is screwed, you will need to screw the close to both the valve and the reducer at the same time because there is no way to grab the close because its all thread. to do that you have to have the close ready with taflon tape and bearly screw it in the close and then bearly screw it to the valve, from there use your wrenches to begin tightening ( don't tighten too much because you will need some leigh way to orient the valve to the position you would like).
i don't think home depot carries 1/4 male theard to 1/2 hosebar, if you don't mind filling and bleeding with a 3/8 hose you'll be alright, if not you will have to reduce to from 1/2 thread to 3/8 because home depot does carry 3/8 male thread to 1/2 hosebar

ok i got it all figured out.. the last and final questions. i built all that and i have my tube running upward, does anything go on the end of the tube when im not bleeding or filling, i know the valve will close the tube off but you wouldn't want dust or anything to get in the tubes... and this system of bleeding and filling works well even though it isn't at the highest point in the system..
thanks a lot for you help

i see your point, i guess you can block dust from going into that tube by capping it with someting. i am not sure what is the best way to do that but you can get creative. as far as this system goes for bleedin air out, if the bubbles get to the airtrap they normaly go up. it works good with me.

well im getting a dd res.. but i really don't have room to put it anywhere high in my system.. only place is on the bottom of the case.. so i think im going ot build what you did ralf... it looks nice and its always fun building your own shit...

hell yeah! get your hands dirty, have fun scott
jus plop it on the top for bleeding. it will still bleed with the res @ the bottom, it will just take like an hour or two or twenty-four
