This is on straight water though it is not quite stable. 1920 should be though.

Nope no new drugs here.

Thats the 2000+ I had it at 1.92 before but I can not remember if it was stable, but now I have got my temps down by almost about 3 degress and it seems stable.

Well I tried 1973 but it would not get past the RAID dectection. Hmm I know with a pelt I could do it, but I just can't bring myself to buy all the stuff to do it.

Unless I could get the stuff at a decent price, its the seperate PSU that is holding me back.

AT or ATX? might have one laying around. If you mean a bulldog or something you're stuck.

I've allways wanted to get the XP chip running at the **00+ number. I did it with my 1600+ but the 1800+ didn't come close. I figured that anyway the 1800 was an older core and the 1600 tromps it. I can get 1700 but it gets flakey at 1725 and above.

Yeah a bulldog or such is what I mean, a 226w pelt needs 24amps even my 400wantec only can push 18amps. And a 12v PSU costs around $100 then $38 for the pelt and Then I would need to get a coldplate so we are looking at $150 plus and I know the cost/performance ratio won't be that great...ahh well

Im surprised you cant get over 1950 with the 2000+.

I might be willing to part with my old Enermax EG465 cheap. The 5v rail is toast (although the lines to the motherboard still show 5v). 12v seems fine however. It can provide 20amps at 12v, and it has been voltage modded, and ive had it as high as 13v, although it may go higher. It will run a 226w pelt just fine.

You just need to put load on the 5v line. You would probably also want to strip off most of the wires coming out of the thing but...if your interested, i can test it further. Maybe sell it for...$40-$50 or trade or b/o. As long as im sure it will still function okay. Will test if your interested.

Thus is the saying, "How fast do you want to go? how much do you want to spend"

Damn, I love going fast. :D

Got to get a new job. ;)

NY:

Not a bad overclock at all for an XP 2000 on straight water:)

I'm seeing about the same thing with my XP 2000. So far the best if will get into the OS and run WCPUID is 1.957 (206 x 9.5). It will post at 1.980 (10 x 198) but will not make it into the OS.

I'm thinking I may be going to a TEC soon too. It surely makes no sense from a cost vs performance standpoint. But, then again, anything over a mild overclock now days dosn't meet that criteria anyway (with the cost of water cooling equiepment, huge HSF units , or whatever).

I really want 2.0G out of it:)

Yeah if it will still push a 12v load I would be interested in it. When you get a chance to test it let me know and we can work out somethin.

NY...I've tested the unit, and it actually runs flawlessly?! 5v 12v etc works.

When I originally read the 5v reading, it was still plugged in to other componants. Perpaps the drives themselves where shorting, which is why I was seeing the 0.6v. I think something else managed to kill the hard drives.

Yeah, its definately working fine right now. Huh. Im not sure I want to sell it now, at least not for so cheap :) Im going to install it in a system and see if it still runs. Although, I really dont need it anymore either. Hmm.

I guess if your interested, ill sell it for $70 shipped, or trade :)

Its fully functional. It runs the PC flawlessly, drives and all. I think the 5v reading 0.6v was just the result of a short elsewhere in the systems (in the drives perhaps).

The PSU is in good condition. One of the molex connectors was removed so that I could wire the peltier directly, another molex connector is a bit brown (but functioning), caused by overamping from the pelts as well.

Thanks for the offer Tom, but I actually just found someone selling a 13.8v 25A PSU for $85 and a 226w Pelt for $35 shipped. He had originally bought it from Opp a few months ago for a Senior Project.

Kewl, on a side note what kind of temps do you think I will see with this set-up?

Maze 3
Aquacoil
226w pelt
Mag 250gph

On a ~2ghz xp?

No clue. Why dont you try it and let us know :)

Direct mount peltiers usually have HUGE mood swings between idle and full load.
