Welcome to LN :)
In my opinion, it is definitely the best in CPU cooling short of liquid nitrogen and the like. Phase change cooling is the way to go for those super serious about getting the coldest temps....and I beleive the Prommy is the best of them at the moment. It can certainly produce some awesome overclocks.
Whether or not it is worth the money is debatable by some. In the end, you still need to add a water cooling system if you want to cool anything other than your CPU such as your vid card. And you can build a complete water system which cools everything you want for about half the price. Granted, a water system will not produce the extreme temps, but you can still get 80% of the overclock that phase change provides. So you need to ask whether the extra cash is worth the extra OC.
On the other hand, the "wow" factor is very high with the Prommy. And for anyone really serious about getting the most OC they can get, the Prommy really is the way to go. When your into the extreme of phase change cooling, the expense is less important of a factor.

That's pretty sweet! I bet though, in a few months there will be a ton more options at a much cheaper price. Water-cooling is becoming so popular that I am reading about pre-made pc's from the large manufacturers coming setup with water-cooling. I will wait for that to happen and for plasma monitors to go down more in price.

The Prometia is definitely the best prefab system you can get for the money. In fact, Im getting one myself. I just got the Lian-Li case, and will be getting the aluminum prometia add-on when i get the funds. This way, I can have my own custom case using the prometia, instead of having something that looks the same as everything elses. In the end, the case and cooling system will end up costing me nearly $1000 though, and my future-wife is going to kill me when she finds this out ;) But, the prometia is definitely worth the money. If you want something cheaper, the new vapochill is a bit more affordable, has good performance, but isnt the best.

i'll agree the prommy is the best. Althou I like the vapochill cases much better. I had some thoughts about building a dually cooled by twin vapochill stand alone units. Hefty cost, but it would be really cool. I also seen some kyrotech things. Read up on them last night, pretty cool.
yes, that vapo is aan alterative, but only for P4s. it squishes athlons to death. sweet, P0, I hadn't hard that you were getting a lian-li. I'd assume a mcw-50T for gpu??? a dually vapo wouldn't be too useful because the best dual athlon ocing board is the mpx2, and it doesn't have a hihger than 1:4 divider, meaning that even with highly tolerant pci devices, it will never get very far above 155FSB, and if the version you would use for this projuect has mult adjustment, it wouldn't give much of a perfromance boost. on the other hand, andyone armed with much. mucho, mucho, mucho mula can get a pair of the soon to be realesed 3 GHZ 400 fsb Xeons, and force then to run @ 133 fsb, about 4GHZ. theres only one board that can do this, however. also the power to the 12v compreeors would be an issue, so dual indpendent power supplies would have to used, almost like what the [H] did with their crazy NB and cpu cooling experiment. also, the short length of the thermal buses (thats what the prommy calls it's i dunno ewhat the vapo cals it's) would mean that it would have to be on the right side (from fornt) with the left side vapo on the top cpu, and the right side vapo on the lower cpu. there is a pic of dual EVA3s on maxxpert's website. dual proomis would also be cool.

Hey bigg,
we are always on the same posts mostly from 2cpu.com. I am having a hard time finding a water-cooling system that will fit with my dually. (dual P3 1000mhz coppermines). they are all for pentium IV's I guess Athlon's. That new xeon is going to be a fu*kin' fortune! Out of my price range for sure. I am really happy with my dual P3's though. I have two P3 dually rigs and can't complain. Pentium's don't get nearly as hot as Athlon's so with a decent case and several of fans you can keep everything pretty cool. If I had dual Athlon's I would definitely get water-cooling and if I could find one for P3's I'd buy it for the noise reduction.
That vapo is real nice, though. Had me thinking to buy a P4 just to fit that system!
just get wbs for athlons. they are the same mounting system. They put a bit more pressure on the p3s thatn the athies, but thats why heatspreaders rock.

hey compman i have a sugestion for you, i thought about i doing it my self. what if you get two innovatek flat flow water blocks and change the stodk fittings from 1/4 to 3/8 and use either the eheim 1048, or one of the hydor pumps, for the rad the black ice pro should be enough
i think the innovateck blocks would be a good choice for you because they use the socket's cleats and are fairly priced at $44

That's some good advice. I appreciate it. Where would be the best place to buy all of these things?

you can find the innovatek flat flow blocks and eheim pumps at www.sharkacorp.com tha black ice pro you can get from various places, i think www.dangerden.com carries them. the alternative to the eheim 1048 is the hydorl20 and the alternative to eheim 1250 is the hydorl30, danger den carries those, as for the 3/8 hose bar fitings, if the flat flow blocks are fitted for 1/4 thread you can buy them at home depot or you can order the plastic ones that sharka carries

Thanks a lot! I am going to order everything today. It will be going into my Lian-Li case. Eventually I would still like to get a vapochill case. They are beautiful!

Bit tech reviewed the prom, sounds like its the best you can buy. You just have to decide if it is worth it to you.
If you go with vapo I'd recommend p4...many people get the cores of AMD chipped/cracked... :( Although it's still possible to use with AMD you just have to be really careful and use shims.

That's definitely something to think about. I don't know why they make these expensive water-cooling systems and put them ion these junky looking cases. Why not make a nice, stylish case. It would be easier to spend that kind of money if it looked as nice as it works! I can't stand the plastic, generic looking case.
