thanks

As I understand it the relay switch only allows the power button on the PC to turn off/on the pump so it doesn't run when the system is on. I don't think it needs to be interfaced with the TEC PSU at all.

Although you can wire things up to get both the pump and meanwell to run off the same relay, it is highly suggested that you use seperate relays. Although the V2 relay is heavy duty enough to handle the inrush current from the meanwell, combining this with the pump too is not a good idea. This is per discussions I've had with Gabe at Swiftech.

If you insist of using one relay, then you will need to splice and split both the green (ground) and white (-) wires from the relay AC socket to both the pump and meanwell. The run a black wire from the relay AC socket to the relay. Then have two black wires coming from the relay (+) to both the pump and meanwell.

I use two relays. Maybe this pic will help you:http://www.liquidninjas.com/mdzcpa/reviewphotos/TECupgrade/Picture_087.jpg

Anytime:) I know it's a PIA to hook up two, but you'll be better off in the long run.

i just had one more question. the + and the - that come from the relay that go to the cpu power supply. Can i connect both postives and negatives instead of having to use 2, 4-prongs that come frome the power supple. I hope you understand what im talking about

Yes. You can power both relays easily from one 4 pin molex connector. The power draw of the relays themselves are quite minimal. The power to the relay only "opens" and "closes" the switch itself in the relay which takes very little juice, and does not provide power to the pump or meanwell at all.

Go for it:)

i neva understood how exactly a relay switch works....

if u runnin' the pump from the relay do u have to cut the wire and like put it in dere like u do wit the TEC psu?

Yes....you will need to free the wires from the pump power cord and manually wire it in. Two of the pump leads go directly to the AC socket source ( ground and (-) ) and the (+) is routed to the relay. The (+) wire from the AC socket source is routed to the relay. When the relay is powered on, it closes the circuit on the (+) circuit.

The relay is powered by the computers PSU. So when the PC is turned on, the PSU turns on and powers the relay, the switch in the relay closes, the (+) circuit to the pump is completed, and the pump turns on.
