what does ' head mean? how HIGH a pump can pump or how much pipe you can use with that pump? whats the deal?
if u submerge a pump and attach a straight up 50ft. hose to it, and turn it on, it wil eventually not be able to pump water any higher, that point at which it stops is the head. the head is at 0GPM, so getting 1/2 of the way to the head is a realistic system. the thing is, a sys haswater going down being pulled bu gravity, so if its closed loop, it should pull the water thats going up down, and just use the pump to keep it going.

ohhh so since its a loop highs dont matter.. so say a 6' head pump can pump say like 100 FT of hoze np as long as it comes back with gravity?

No there is still a limit to the head.

yes, but with gravity and a closed loop sys it is higher than the head of the pump (i think???)
