Allo I would just like to say thank you for a great site I have been reading here for about a month in the starts to my WCing needs.

Like most of you were at one point I am fixing to start my first delving into the art that is Water cooling. Humm... where to start? Ok, well first I have decided to go with water cooling due to the increased cooling needs and need for lower noise level. My current system is as follows:
AMD 2700+
2x CORSAIR XMS 256MB 32MX64 PC-3200LL (currently on order)
Epox 8RDA+ (on order with the Ram)
Geforce3 Ti200 (will get Ti4200 later)

Currently running some samsung PC2700 (which wont take my FBS to what I want it), on an MSI KT4 Ultra FISR and for cooling using a SLK-800 with Tornado 84.1 CFM fan (I can barely sleep at night and have to play games VERY loud) plus another 120mm and 2x60mm fans in case. I want to get my FBS up to 200 with a good multiplier and still be able to sleep at night and if I am lucky, not hear my case at least most the time. I am not a very big fan for modded pretty cases sure it is important but I would rate it much lower on the list having a nice WC system all in one case, which is nice and stable and having the ablity to OC is much more important than looks. So if it works but isent pretty thats Ok with me.

So now that I have given you a little bit of the low down on what I wish to do now to set out with how to do it. I was orginality going to go with a Koolance kit (then I read this site). Now I am thinking it would just be best to go about building my own rig. So now the hard part I have been looking at many of the parts that I have seen here and heard people talk about and this is what I was thinking of going with (although still very new to this and need help):
-For a case I was thinking with going with one of the Antec full towers SX1080 or something (but I want a REAL black not that greyish color they come) anyone know where I can get one? or if everything will fix I like the coolermaster case
-I didnt like the waterblocks for Dangerden so I think I want to go with Swifty they look much higher quality. As to which one I am not sure need some help there.
-For tubing I seen here that most of you say go with 1/2" so thats what I plan on doing (unless you dont think I should)
-Pump I was thinking of going with the Eheim 1250 but I need some sizes of it so i can see if it will fit in my case or at least start planning about where to put it.
-For Rad I dont know realy what to do here but the Black Ice Xtreme looks good to me. but I need alot of help here I was thinking having Rad between 2 fans to help cooling if I need it (most help needed here I think)
-I also want a Reservoir but not sure as to which one but I have heard it drops temps and thats what I am after.
-For now I want a CPU Block, Chipset block, then later when I get my Ti4200 (maybe 9700pro if some money appears though I have always had trouble with ATI cards so still kinda iffy on getting one if i had the money)
-I also want to be able to Measure the temp of the water at all times and the temp of the CPU and not sure what to go with for that. some kind of front pannel LED or something any suggestions here?

Well I am sure I missed something or messed something up. but thats a good start also if you have any advice and dont want to post it feel free to Email me.

Thank you kindly
Wrathen Stormbringer

(also if you do Sig Pics I need one done contact me about that too)

Greetings and :D:DWELCOME:D:D to Liquid Ninjas, Wrathen!

Are you getting the twin matched Corsair memory? Or just two seperate sticks? I believe the matched costs ~$20 more, so maybe it's something you should look into seeing how this is a dual channel DDR system.

I'd encourage you to get a 9500 Pro over a Ti4200. The benefits are immeasureable and you'll only be losing an extra $30 or so.

For a cheap case I'd say an antec clone. Only $60 some dollars at most stores, and plenty of room.

There is a LCD display with I think eight thermisistors called the DigiDoc5. You may wanna look into it :D.

:beerm8s: Welcome Wrathen :beerm8s:

Nice to have you posting :)

You have a nice little system picked out.

My ideas. The digidoc will take all the temps you need for $50. Unless you plan on reading -0 temps, one drawback of the digidoc. If it's just CPU and water temp you can get a dual temp probe either on-line or at CompUSA.

You want to hit 200fsb. The board and RAM should be able to do it eaisly (as drake sugg. if you can get the twin sticks, get 'em :) ) As far as the video card goes, I've had a Ti4200 and liked it. Did 200fsb eaisly. Now I have a 9500Pro and I love it but there is one drawback. It does not like the high fsb like my 4200 did. I can now only run @ 190 in a system that used to do 211. Might just be me but something to think about.

Glad to have you and ask away. ;)

Ahh thanks for the clue in for the temp gauge. ya I wanta use the new nForce duel channel ram also had a thought out the ram should I go ahead and get the 3500 only a few bucks more and might have an easyer time getting over 200FFBS with it. As for a 9500pro I am still not sure about ATI cards I have had 2 before and nothing but problems with them.

Well now that we have some of that nailed down I just need some info on: Rad, Reservoir, pumps, and Water Blocks

I have a BIX, a coppertop maze3, and a 1250 and they do me quite well :)

My corsair XMS3200 hits 200 just fine and I was only limited by my board to 211. Anything above I had AGP tearing.

The bix is a wonderful rad. It's pretty big and with 2x 120mm fans it's real dang big. It will even handle a TEC if you want to go that route later.

I have a combined 1250 and homemade res that's attached to the inlet. (Player0 designed :) ). It's big and takes up the better part of the bottom of my case. I can't put any full size PCI cards in the bottom two but my n.i.c fits fine.

The Swifty is a great block and so is the Maze3. Can't go wrong with either. There are also some others that are making an impact but I'll keep to what I know :)

If you need to see size of the parts you can check the LN gallerys. There are a couple of different setups there and that should give you an idea.

well, a full tower from antec will serve you well. it has plenty of room and expandability. in order to save a few bucks, and some space, i reccomend that you use a hydor l30 instead of a eheim. a res may lower temps a thousanth of a degree, but they are not nessesary. they do, howeve make the f&b process a lot eaisier. otherwise a t or two or pump submersion would have to be used to fill the sys. the bix will fit in the top of the case in the back, but for optimum tec cooling, u'll need a 2x 120 rad, mounted on the top panel of the case. if u ever want to go tec, u can only have a cpu and an gpu blok, (cuz otherwise the non tec nb etc gets plastered with hot water) and they both have to be swiftys (if uwant decent gaskets). the mcw-462UHT and mcw-50T will work well. the only prob with the 50t i that u either but it with a tec or with no capability for a tec. if no tec, any wb will work well, and chipset blok (although a little fan will do just as well) can be used. 1/2" tubing is the way 2 go.

I have trouble sleeping while it's quiet :)

I have to have some sort of noise going on. Music, the TV, the computers are allways on :D.

If I go camping I have to bring a CD player so I can sleep.

I do understand thou. I had trouble sleeping when I had a alpha and a 80mm delta FF.

i'm kind lost can you please tell me what you mean by "fold"

Drake

Folding (http://folding.stanford.edu) is a form of distributive computing (DC) that LN participates in (we're almost in the top 100! Good going team!) It involves helping solve the mystery of diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. It's also a great competition between other members of the LN team.

This thread (http://www.liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1809) should help ya get started if you decide to join. It contains the basics you'd need to fold. We aslo have a Folding forum (http://www.liquidninjas.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=40) with other great and useful info.
