Power (W) = Volage X Amperage

So... 172W pelt... 12X25=300W

300-172= 128W left for the mother board and stuff... so it SHOULD be enougth... what are your system specks?

I wouldn't trust it. Taking into account the CPU, you only have around 50 watts left. One DVD-ROM and one CD-RW leaves you with 14 watts left. One CC makes 6 watts.

I would seriously make the investment in a dedicated PSU.

yeah well the cpu dont use the 5V rail that much...

i know that HDS use 12V to start then when runing ONLY use 5V
u can always go to radio shack buy a amp meter that clamps and measure the cosume of the 12V rail.. and then u have FACTS...

but up to you... if your got the moeny go buy a psu..

well yeah there is lots there that pull 12V rail... to get a rougth... get all those devices look on the label... and calculate... all of them say how much it takes of 12V and ddr takes 3.3V and cpu a bit of each.. its worth trying if it over load the PSU will just shut down

no worryes
