Hello Everyone,
I wish I would have found this forum sooner.I am in the process of building a new water cooled system and thought I would find some places to get good information as I build.Unfortunatly I have already bought much of my parts and see that my purchase of the Koolance case may not have been the best start into the world of water cooling.I wish I could send it back but I had it modded so no return:( .If anyone here has some tips on what I can do to get the most out of my purchase, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance

Well you could always put your current rig in the Koolance case and use the Lian Li PC60 you have for the new watercooled rig :)

Yeah, though Koolance may not be the best, they certainly get the job done. Just make sure you have anti-corrosive/anti-bacterial agents in your line, Koolance has a reputation for getting bad growth on their waterblocks.

Hi Forgiven_1,
First, let me :D :D WELCOME :D :D you to Liquid Ninjas. It is great to have you as a new member and posting.
Next, even tho you have the Koolance system, there is a redeaming factor.
Go to Danger Den ( www.dangerden.com ), and purchase the Maze 3 waterblock with the Koolance adapter.
It allows you to use the Maze 3 water block on the Koolance. This will drop your temps fairly well off the bat.
That is a start.
Take care, and again Welcome..........

Hi Forgiven,
Well, no...the koolance wouldnt be my first choice. However, its a fairly good price. And you can always upgrade any watercooling system. As you gain more experience, you can upgrade the block, pumps, rads, anything you want :) If your cool with upgrading, then your set.
If you just wanted a premade, no hassle system, than the koolance is fine as well. It works okay, and if your not interested in upgrading watercooling systems, then your probably no so concerned with serious overclocking either, so the koolance will be fine :)
So, dont worry so much about your choice...these systems are easy to grow with :)
the koolance is a bad choice for the xtreme ocer, but for someone who wants a cool and quiet system, it's not bad. it does have some unique feature like dual pumps (well i don't know about that, just heard it), and intellegent fan controls. also, extra rads and pumps can always be added. or it can be a great cooler for that second sys, when u decide it's not powerful enough for youe athlon 256 8000+. eventually, if u put the koolance on the other sys, if u get the dd block now it can be reused with different fittings, and the origanal block can be put back in.

Thanks for the info and the welcome.I am going to check out the link and see about ordering that maze 3. I am a first time overclocker and plan on getting very serious about it, so you can imagine how disappionted I was about my koolance.I might put my current system in it just for silence and use my lian li case to build a better "mouse trap" you might say. Thanks again and I'll be talking to you all later.BTW thanks for the idea Kill-Switch!

:) Anytime ... I'm glad we could all help you out ... Let us know how things go when you build your new system.
i had a great idea-just put a prometia under the koolance, and use the wcing to cool a tec cooled gpu, and maybe even ram, and a NB.

I believe koolance systems aren't rated to handle more than 150 or 200 watts of heat. TECs would definetly strain the system.
mcw-50T 80watt prometia cpu

An 80 should be manageable, if not put another radiator in there somewhere :D.
yeah, thats about what an athie will put out, so it should be a good way to get a heck of a lot out of that koolance

Ok, looks like I have sold most everything out of my current system except the lian li pc60 case.So I think I'm going to put Kill-Switch's idea to work. What I need to know is what sytem components do I need and what is the best brand.I dont want to get to fancy but I want to get into some serious OC'ing.Any suggestions would be appreciated.I want to stay around 150-200 dollars if possiable but if needed will go higher.
Thanks again,

Note:Please try to give name and part#'s if possiable.
the lian-li pc-60 won't fit much oc crap, so get rid of it and get an antec full tower or lian-li pc-70, unlees of couse u want everyhting external. i'd recommend a hydor l30, mcw-462UH, (tec upgradable), and a 2x 120 rad. this will allow for tec upgrades. for the gpu wb, get the mcw-50. the prob with this is thtas its not tec upgradable. u have to but a mcw-50T. u can't have a tec and a non tec, cuz it will heat the water up too much for the non tec blok. in anycase, u may want to leave the gpu out until u get a tec for the cpu, then get the mcw-50T.
