Not bad with over a GIG of RAM in sockets 1 and 3 therby utilizing dual channel features.

Exos external system with Maze 3 and Radeon block from Danger Den

Temp probe shows only 28C but I don't think that would be very accurate since I located it on the underside of the Maze 3 water block; just outside the cpu socket.

I don't think the temp reading from the Asus motherboard is accurate either.

The Exos system has 3 fan settings:

Settings 1 and 2 are pretty equal in cooling 40C from bios and 32C from probe

Setting 3 ( louder so I won't keep it there) 36C from bios and 28C from probe

The only problem I'm having with the system is and exclamation mark in Device Manager for Memory Resource. I've did some hunting and I believe it has to do with USB keyboard/USB mouse being attached....they work but that exclamation point is still there:drinky:

I guess this is just not in the cards at this forum?

My apologize for the intrusion:confused:

No prob. I think we're all a bit confused by it as well. I would uninstall the device from device manager, unplug all the suspected devices, and plug them in one at a time.

Thank you for the reply Drake. I just encountered a major one!

I damaged my 9500PRO...it's destroyed...gone...dead...nada.

I tried to pry off the shim as carefully as I could to see if it would budge...everything was fine until my son tapped me on the shoulder and I put a little scratch on the GPU.

I didn't get upset, as a matter of fact I stopped what I was doing and we went into the friggid Canadian cold for some street hockey.

Well, I just put it back in and it's toasted

Now I have the nice little DangerDen cooler with no card in place except for my old Geforce 2.

I need advice...wait a few weeks until the NvidiaFX comes out and pick up the ATI 9700Pro at a more reasonable price?

I think I'll just leave things as they are and use the Radeon block for the northbridge and order a new GPU water block for the up coming FX card...not sure...just want to make sure that whatever I get...the 9700PRO or the FX...that it will play Doom 3 and full optimization!!

:drinky:

If you wanna blow $500 on a gfx card that will be outdated in a few months, go right on ahead. I would go ahead and grab a 9700 Pro after the FX comes out when they cheapen a bit.

not that I'm one of ATi's loyal customers or anything...

OUCH!! $500:eek:

Nope...think I'll be patient and wait until the 9700PRO drops to a reasonable level then.
