just been reading on overclockers.com about the CPU codes for the different cores that are around at the mo.

from what i can tell there are 3 or 4 depending on whihc way you look at it

the old pally core
the tbred A core
a low end tbred B core (batch code seems to start with a J)
high end tbred B core (batch code starts with A)

now, i know my pally core clock to around 1800 give or take.

but which tbred core is going to be the beter overclocker???

i am assuming the tbred A core is still a pig and runs hot, so i dont really fancy that one

but does anyone know how much of a difference there is between these supposed high and and low end Tbred B cores?

if anyone has an XP1800+ could they put down in here which core they have and what overclock they have got to (voltage, temp, speed)

want to figure these out so i can get decent cores for my new crunchers

toodle pip

I just installed a B core 1800+ in my system last night.

I'm presently runing @ 190/10x 1.75v on a KX7-333R. Temps with a maze3, 1250, and a BIX are maxing at 47c folding 24/7. I haven't had time to play with it too much. It booted at 2g 1.75v but hung. I'm a bit afraid to pump the voltage being that my CPU defaulted to 1.5v.

Don't know if that helps ya MrP. Anyting else let me know. :)

You sure it's a B, Fara? I've heard of most B 1800s reaching a solid 2GHz on air.

ACUIB is the better t-bred B at the moment. T-bred A's don't overclock as well.

look at the graph... so a 2000+ is good for oc cause 1.6V so less dif when u oc and increse to 1.85 (im i rite?)

If that is infact the code that would make it a T-Bred A
