I'm about to begin assembling my new water cooling system using 1/2 inch Clearflex 60 tubing. It occurs to me that once tubing has been run through a variety of nooks and cranies I might want an easy way to disassemble part of all of this setup as well. Is there such a thing as a 'quick disconnect' for water tubes? Something that wouldn't spray water all over the motherboard if the time came to replace the water block etc?

welcome to LN answers, theres quick connect fittings 3/8 & 1/2"OD used by swiftech but they dont seal on disconnnect. Consider a fill & bleed T line for quick filling & emptying :)

Ive tried the double-valve quick disconnects for 1/2", but they are huge! And expensive. $40-50 for a pair. I dont use the ones i have.

a duallie valve quick disconnect shouldn't be too huge.why use them anyways??? more fittings=more flowresistance=need bigger pump=have more pressure=more risk of leaks and blowouts.

nothing like a steamy water fountain coming out your water block when you get home
