Check out this (http://www.liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1809) thread. It has links to everything you'd want to know about folding. 'Roundabouts here it's also a bit of friendly competition :D

Try running the console version. No install, you just go.

Drake was referring to the "Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP "No-nonsense" text-only console" version. It's at the same link.

For username...pick whatever you want...Brinky would be good;)

For Team make sure you put in 11899. That's the LN Team number.

Once you see those guys names, your folding. You'll soon see completed frames popping up.

Double check that team number....11899:)

The CPU will automatically worK at 100% of unused cycles. You do not need to set that. If you quit, yes...the work unit will pick up where you left off.

If you want to, you can shrink the window into your system tray by using the little program called "TrayIt". See the sticky section of the forum where Wacky posted a thread with folding add-ons. Just follow the link in the thread, load it and follow the instructions. Ask if question. It's very convenient.

yeah i got the non text to work...
ahh so how long does it take on a 1700+ to do some stuff...
first.. what is WU?

WU= work unit

Every work unit is broken down into steps...usually frames. you can see how many frames the work unit you are working on has by reading the text in the console when it first is booted.

A 1700 should move along nicely. To estimate how long it will take, just look at how long each frame takes on average and divide how many frames in the work unit by that.

Happy folding. it's nice to have you aboard the team. It will take some time for your wu to complete and register at stanford, then appear on our stats page. so be patient for that.

Edit that: I see you said the non text is working. In that case I'm not sure where the details are. i only use the console verison:)

I fold on a PIII 450, it usually takes a few days to complete a WU.
I don't know about the machine thing, just try it and find out.

Hi Brinky,

As long as you ask questions here and not send me PM with the same questions you ask in the forums, then no.

As I said last night in PM, PM is for private mail.

Take care.....
