Hi all,

I have the SS client up on a machine with the text console on an identical dell 233mmx 64mb.

I was expecting the text console to out-perform the ss, but the difference is phenomenal. How could the SS possibly be so slow?
It has full access to system resources when the SS is on. How come it is so inneficient?

Would the graphical console be as slow on the same box as the SS do you think?

as soon as it finishes this WU, the SS is outa here!:cool3:

Cheers

Hrmm. I figured the console would be fastest too, but I've only heard there's no difference between it and the graphical client. I've not heard anything about the SS, though.

Now I run the graphical client for two reasons: 1) I'm tired of getting G@H woots, and 2) I like not having it on the taskbar.

Hi UR,

It is possible that you had two different types of work units running.

There is a list of all the work units, the link is in my sig labeled: F@H Projects

I hope that answers your question.:)

BTW, based on WackyComputers nice find of Folding add-ons, I am only going to be running the console version from now on. On the link he provided is a neat little proggy called "TrayIt" which puts the console window into the sys tray. Works great!
