View Full Version : Just for comparison...
Hi fellas,
First: I'm a 100% sure I will love this place!!
Just bought me a 1.4 T-bird (AYHJA "Y"). I clocked it to 1750MHz. Should I expect much more, based on the average overclockability of this CPU? That's the first tests with it.

My old 1400 stopped somewhere below 1700mhz (1668mhz looking back), but you probably have a much more modern stepping. Actually, it would have done more if my KT7A motherboard didn't hold me back. Or was it a KG7 then.
Ive had so much hardware, I find it extremely difficult to remember what did what unless Im at home with my notes in front of me ;)
But, your 1400 is already well past what mine ever did. You have some super cooling too. Be interesting to see if you hit 1800mhz, but...if you can get that, i dont think youd be likely to go much higher....1400 tbirds were thelast before the Palamino core....they run the hottest of all the chips...outside of a 2200 maybe. Since they are already so close to the limit of the Tbird core, they wont overclock as well as say an XP.
Thanx for the reply Player0.
Yep, 1800MHz is my personal goal. I totaly redone my insulation job yesterday. I´ll lower my water temps to -10c and see how it performs. As you may remember at the ninja forums, my pump makes just 140 litres per hour, so I´m planning to buy an Eheim 1250 from DangerDen. Do you think I´m going to see a huge difference in my temps? BTW do you recomend buying from DangerDen?

I would hope to see you get a big improvements in temperatures with the larger pumps. Its hard to say sometimes though...it should make that delta T you had better though...that 50c was it? That was insane :) I get 15c hehe :) 25c even with the worst of waterblocks.
If you got 1750 already, you should get 1800. I usually run my CPUs outside of the cooler before installing them. Let them run aircooled for a couple weeks at like 45c...i figgure, this will burn them in faster? I dunno. Might help.
I 100% dangerden, yes. Those guys are great. A little slow to respond sometimes, but only because they are so busy making a great product.
Good to know that, I´ll go for Eheim. In fact my delta T is quite lower now, Vcore is now at 2.1 and water temps 0c to 5c.
Full load temps: 31c
Idle temps: 22c
My water-block is much more flatened at the core now, makes my temps decrease a bit too.
