I just can't leave a mobo alone. I noticed my new geforce 4 card was a bit unconfy to the touch so

And I figure while I was at it the chipset get a tad warm  No I can't have that

Both are 4cm 5 volt fans and now both of those heatsinks are cold :D
This compy has 4 fans and no case yet  My main rig has 11 fans...Doesn't need them...I just have to add fans till I run outta room :( I think I have some sort of obsesive compulsive cooling thing going on :p

Nothing wrong with obsessive-compulsive cooling :D

I've only seven fans in my case, at the moment... 60 dB is blasting my ears off... usually just drown it out with music, though :p

Fans are fun! I like to add little fans around my NB, mosfets, and HDs. I really think they do help if you like keeping things "pushed" to the limit.

If you,ve got a fancy power supply then pls ignore.....

If you have an ordinary thing, with no fan in the underside then I would highly recomend converting it to the spec that atx was supposed to support.

With a good sized fan in the bottom of the housing. I cut a neat circle in the bottom of a 300w psu with a jigsaw <<insert weapon of choice], and popped an 80mm case fan straight in. You can even be as lazy as to pass the power-lead for the fan out to a 4pin adapter if you don't have the tools to delve further.

Neat 15minute mod with dramatic results, It winds up directly above the cpu like an extractor fan, practically doubles the warm air that now blasts out the back. Thats got to be good for voltage stability.

Warning, if your not familiar with open electronics then dont play. Leave the unit unplugged for some time to let caps drain, measure twice cut once and dont forget to remove case b4 cutting.

I assume most of you guys are onto-it, but there are allways beginners.

Go the fans.......UR:)

PS I think a 92mm slim fan would go in, and grills are cheap. pls tell me if you get 92mm to fit.

On my main rig I've already done that ;)
I put a second fan directly oppossite the power supply case of the first fan creating a windtunnel across the heatsinks in the case. I use a big arse drill bit to create holes in a circle where the fan blades are. I can't find the pics I took of that project though :(

Air exhausted by the PSU now is noticably harder and cooler than before :D
