Hi all and a happy new year to you all .
Ok !!!
My rig is now installed....
K7N8X
2400xp (unlocked)
2X 256 CORCAIR 3200 c2
MAXTOR 80GB 8MB PLUS 9
450 PSU
GFORCE 3
The help I need is with setting up the board .....
what setting should i have in
Advanced bios features ??
.............. chipset .......... ??
many thanks

In advanced features, set up the CPU frequency at 15x133. For normal set up, I'd run it at it's specifications just to make sure that it's not messing anything else up.
You have XMS3200 C2, so you should get some great timings out of it. Set it to 2-2-2-5-2T.
Other than that, I'm not familiar enough with the board to help you out. I believe Mike has the board, though.

I think you are referring to the Asus A7N8X?
If so, all the good settings can be found under the Advanced Chipset Features page in the BIOS.
For your set up I recommend the following as a place to start (assuming your CPU is properly unlocked as you say):
CPU Freq Mult Setting: 166
CPU Freq Multiple: 12
System Performance: User Defined
CPU Interface: Aggressive
Memory Frequency: Sync
Memory Timings: User Defined
Precharge: 7
RAS to CAS: 3
RAS to Precharge: 3
CAS: 2T
AGP Aperture: 128
The above settings will net you a CPU speed close to stock...about 2ghz (166 x 12). Your memory will be running synchronously with the FSB at 166 which is want you want for best performance. You should not need any extra voltages at this point. The memory settings I gave you are tweaked, but not overly aggressive and should give you head room to up the FSB and memory without too much trouble.
From here, begin incrementing the FSB up 1mhz at a time. Add CPU core voltage a little as you go to remain stable. You may need to add DDR voltage too, but you should not need that until you hit the 180-190 range or so.
Keep your eye on the temps! Have fun!

If its PC3200, why would extra volts be needed below stock speed?

To run the aggressive timings in Sync mode with 2 sticks of DRAM (true dual channel). The NF2 is much tougher on RAM running this way than the KT333 or KT400.
By choosing either of the "pre select" memory timing choices (optimum or aggressive) you can get a good idea of what Asus thinks you should be running for memory timings. As the FSB is scaled up, you can watch and see how these pre set choices begin to change to more relaxed settings. For example, above 166 FSB, "optimal" settings drop to 8,4,4...and above 185 or so, the CAS drops to 2.5T. So that's what Asus thinks you should be running at with stock voltages at those FSB speeds.
So I suggest being prepared to start upping the DDR voltage sooner. This will allow for trying even more aggressive settings too. Once you find where you think the system has peaked out with stability, you always try backing down the voltages to the lowest stable settings. But...that's usually the last thing I do.

I just got the A7N8x delux and only have pc 2100 untill i can get better ram and a 1600+ (still locked) just woundering what u guys would suggest i set things up like?

Run the timings as agressively as possible without sacrificing stability. If you plan to unlock, loosen up your timings and take the FSB as far as the RAM will allow.

Drake has given good advice.
If you do not plan to unlock it just yet, and until you get better memory, i would suggest that run these settings for starters:
CPU External Frequncy: This will Auto detect at 133
CPU Freq Mult Setting: Auto
CPU Freq Multiple: This will auto detect at 10.5
System Performance: Aggressive
CPU Interface: Aggressive
Memory Frequency: Sync
Memory Timings: Aggressive
RAS to CAS: will auto set
RAS to Precharge: will auto set
CAS: will auto set
If you experience any instabilities, turn the "aggressive" settings down to "optimal".

Hi again...
I am really looking for people who have same setup ie "MR GUNG FU "
Anyway I am running
CPU 151mhz
multiple on 12.5
cpu interface aggressive
memory on sync
mem time aggressive, 7,3,3,2t
fsb disabled
cpu vcore 1.7
ddr volt 2.7
this gives me my 2400xp running at 2280mhx
I am running it now so I'll get back to you ...

Doesn't 12.5 X 151 = 1887.5 ,or am I wrong?
