HDTach & Sandra, though not that impressed with sandra for HDD tests. Downloaded HD SPeed (http://www.pclincs.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=215) the other day but not had chance to test it yet

Yeah sandra is weird for HD, and HDTach is giving me some weird scores, can you guys post some screenshots of HDTach and ATTO for me to compare to. I am trying to get the most out of this RAID setup

Here's a quick shot of ATTO on my KX7.

Bear in mind the following:
KX7 using the Highpoint 2.31 BIOS and driver set
2 40g Maxtor ATA 100 7200 drives
FSB at 185mhz with PCI divisor at 1/5
NTFS 4k clusters with 16k stripe

I have only had the mobo up a few weeks now and haven't tweaked the RAID set up at all, so these scores are likely a bit low. I have not installed any drivers or patches (which did help a great deal on the KR7A). VIA's RAID patch, or George Breese's VIA PCI patch can definitely help.

With the patch I hope to get about another 7-10% more. If the Kr7A was any indication, I should be able to get that.

Ok well I just got ATTO but I am not sure how these score are.

System specs are:

Via PCI Patch and some Wpcredit tweaks.

Are these good or can I get more out of my RAID, suggestions are more than welcome. This is my first personal RAID 0 set-up. I have done tons of RAID 1 and RAID 0 for work but I wasn't concerned on getting the most out of it.

They certainly crush my puny ATTO benches.

What Wpcredit tweaks are you using?

Mike, the settings I used are 70->A6 and 94->5F They should be the same for the KX7 but I am not sure.

Ok here is the weird thing, my HDtach is so erratic, I have been trying to smooth it out but it is still not a smooth transfer...any ideas.

"Any Ideas?" Hummmm, maybe the settings on WPcredit.Try to disable WPCreset and see what happen...It seems PCI latency problem, i'm not sure....I'll try to do a research on it...

Well, here's is my HdTach with:

2XIBM 75GXP 46GB/Raid0/16k/16k
FSB=145mhz
WPcredit registers= 52=EB, 0D=00, 75=83

Oh, yes, this registers is for KT7A-Raid.

HDTach can be very innaccurate. It doesnt access the HDs the same as Windows, from what I hear.

Have you defragged?
