Nice review M8:)

The results surprised me a bit as I thought both would perform closer to one another.

Can you mount a TEC on that DD block?

Nope no Tec can be mounted on the DD...and the Swifty is weird since the pelt mounts directly to the chamber...which you prolly know what I mean, since I think you have the MCW50-T

does the dd block eat a pci for lunch??? i know that the swifty eats one, and eats another for dinner if u put the pelt on. thats why i like the mcw-40 better, even if it doesn't perfrom as good. the ramsink issue, it would be obliviated if all vid card makers went to a parheila like desighn, so the tubes can go in between the ram on either side.

Yeah they both take up 1 PCI slot when mounted. You are right if manufactures redesign the pcb to place the RAM on the side it would not be a problem at all.

if you put straight barbs on the DD would it save the poor pci slot??? another thing about the parhelia's physical design is that there's no capacitators on the frontside, alowing large ramsinks. can u tell I want a parhelia???:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

was curious about the mounting on the 128 mb radeon 8500 see that you have holes in the card, my 8500 has no holes in order to mount anything, did you drill yours or did it come that way stock?

Bigg no straight barbs would make no diff.

nasrott all Built by Ati 8500 128mb cards have the holes.

nice job NY...the DD surprised me on the temp regulation...im runnin the mcw50 solely for the fact that i can upgrade it with a tec in the future.

keep up the great work!!!

GO JERSEY!

Welcome Cygnus...yes that is a good fact about the MCW50 the DD block has no option for a TEC.

GO JERSEY!

My (now sold) radeon 8500 le 64Mb had the same mounting holes as my 9700pro. How can the generic ati cooler be fitted if there is no holes?!

I have added a z-chip NB cooler to my Atlantis icicle and flow rates have dropped noticeably. It may be improved by replacing the kinked link between my NB and CPU cooler. I have been told that y-adapters can help. Would this be worth doing? I believe my CPU temp and system temp have risen after installing the new waterblock.

I do have an unusual setup (pics in sig). I use 10m of 1/2" silicon tubing so I can place my radiator outside and remove a noise source. I have a Eheim 1250 and the flowrate as seen in my resevoir has dropped alot. I will take some pictures of the watercooling system as it is currently and put them on my website soon.

The only options I have are:
1)shorten the length of 1/2"
2)hope the kinked tube being replaced will make all the difference
3)run the watercooling down from the cpu onto the NB instead of going past the slightest heat source first
4)Use Y-adapters and run a channel past the NB
5)Attribute higher CPU temps to heating the water up slightly due to passing the NB first.

Cooling the NB has not given any (may be down to bios I am using 3609 which sirens past 200Mhz) more overclocking potential on my rev 1.0 Epox 8RDA+ @ default Vdd = 1.6v. I will be replacing it with a Rev 2.0 or 2.1 (http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=191164&postcount=19) shortly.
