What mobo are you running off of? KT400, some KT333s, and some nForce2 mobos unlock the multipliers by default.

Ah. I'd go ahead and try it then. The worst that could happen is the system won't boot.

I have found this to be the easiest way to get multi's 5.5-12.5 with TBreds 2200+ and higher. Take a small guage copper wire and cut it about twice the length of a cpu pin (a piece from an old IDE ribbon works great) and bend it in a U shape and then plunk it into the holes in the ZIF socket as indicated in the picture. Presto, unlocked.

I'd be extremely careful about that. If the wire is too thick it will raise the CPU enough to make core cracking a danger :(. A safer way is to paint the two pins.

Or the 5th L3 bridge. Scince it only has bridges off to the side you don't have to do any thing but paint around the laser cut.

Hey SPQQKY:

It's great to see you posting here at LN:) You have a lot of knowledge to offer and I hope to see you continue hanging out more! We've got a nice group of people:)

Anyway, either the wire trick or painting the 5th L3 bridge will work just fine. I find connecting the 5th L3 with conductive grease to be the easiest method as you can "horse shoe" around the pit...no need to fill it.
