I have a problem. I have an XP2200+ that i need to install in a new PC I need to build for someone. Unfortunately, I need to have the PC done by Tuesday, and I didn't get the KD7 yet. So I thought I would just throw it in my KR7A-RAID which for the purpose of this PC is just as good. But Abit sais the KR7A doesn't support the XP2400+! I haven't tried it yet.

Is there anything that I can do to the CPU itself so that it will work in the KR7A? I really dont want to take apart my KX7 box or give away my AT72, but I have to get this box done.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Hmm, I can remove RN18 on the board, and that should correct the booting problem, and allow me to use the XP2200 as is. Guess its back to the workshop :)

I have not read the thread I've linked here, but perhaps it may help you.

Such a pain.

Well, Im giving him my XP2700+ and KX7 with the MCX-462. It means I loose my fileserver for a little while until I can buy a raid controller for the dual-xeon but, he'll be happy.

The KR7 may be salvageable, but im not sure I even care at this point. Anyone want a 2200? :)
