i get about 30 of these a day, can i call inter-nic and complain?

You can, but it won't do any good. *Every* live IP on the internet is port scanned all the time. No one really pays attention too it. Just make sure you have checked all the security holes. If theres any open ports on the internet, it will be probed and maybe even hacked.

An open FTP or Web site will be hacked within 24 hours. Ive tried this myself...its true heh :)

Agree with Player0 Synth, it happens all the time with true IP on the internet.I doubt that inter-nic can do anything.They will say that it's your responsability to keep a good firewall on it.

ok are you hosting the site or is it remote? if you are hosting it you might try going to https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and run the shields up tests see what you have open .. then theres a nice little program out there called hack tracer. some of the newer mcafee firewall progrms have the feature also.. though i prefer neoworkz "neowatch" which can be downloaded free from download.com. this program was so good mcafee had to buy it screw it up and integrate into there personal firewall prgram. anyway when ever anyone pings you or does anything to your ip addy it reports all the info for you .... i got to call a guys in spain who hammered one of my ip's for 3 days straight. strange the guy said he didnt even own a computer but i never saw his ip again .. :)

Did sheilds up report your ports as closed or stealthed?
If they are just closed, then the probes will sometimes try to find a way to open them.
Best to have the computer not even respond to the probe at all, that way the probe won't even know that a PC was there.
