Hi fellas,

After a couple of weeks running my new Intel Based System, I started to get curious about how It Will performs Against my old AMD rig.

AMD rig:

Abit KX7333-RAID
XP 1600 @ 2.0GHz - 10x200FSB
256Mb Samsung PC2700
40g MAXTOR D740X
OS: Windows 2000 Professional (SP2)
Abit Siluro GF3 Ti200
Video Card Drivers: Detonator 40.72
DirectX 8.1b
VIA 4in1 4.40
HPT 2.31

Intel rig:

Shuttle FS51
Intel Pentium 4 2.0GHz @ 2.64GHz - 20x132FSB
256Mb Samsung PC2700
40g MAXTOR D740X
OS: Windows 2000 Professional (SP2)
Abit Siluro GF3 Ti200
Video Card Drivers: Detonator 40.72
DirectX 8.1b

note: Test was made with memory on defaults. Here we go:

AMD rig:

Sandra Memory Bandwidth Benchmark:

RAM Int Bandwidth: 2683MB/s
RAm Float Bandwidth: 2441MB/s

Sandra CPU Arithmetic Benchmark:

Dhrystone ALU: 7558 MIPS
Whetstone FPU 3043 MFLOPS

3DMark2001SE: 8656

Intel rig:

Sandra Memory Bandwidth Benchmark:

RAM Int Bandwidth: 2698MB/s
RAm Float Bandwidth: 2699MB/s

Sandra CPU Arithmetic Benchmark:

Dhrystone ALU: 7172 MIPS
Whetstone FPU 3491 MFLOPS

3DMark2001SE: 8940

I´m planning to do some more benches with default speeds on both processors. Stay tuned.

Cheers, KODE.

i'm allways amazed how well AMD holds out against intel despite the massive clockspeed deficit... if only they scaled a little better they'd still be top! ah well roll on barton :D

I'd like to see the results with both CPUs clocked at 2Gig. We all know what the outcome would be, but I had to post it anyway;)
