Hi all,

Just picked up a stick of Samsung 512 PC2700 memory.

I am running it on a MSI KT3 Ultra2 mobo.

My BIOS settings are:
Configuration SDRAM Timings by....USER
SDRAM Fraquency.....SPD
SDRAM CAS# Latency.....2
Row Precharge Time.....2T
RAS Pulse Width.....5T
RAS to CAS Delay.....2T
SARAM Bank Interleave.....4-Way
SDRAM Burst Length..... 4 QW
SDRAM 1T Command.....Enabled
Fast Command.....Normal

I am getting a blue screen on these settings. These settings were where I had my 256 PC2100 memory set at, and it worked fine.

I am running an XP2000+, locked and was at FSB of 143, now default of 133.

Rebooted, and had to go to default settings to even hold, without a reboot cycle.

Now on default settings it boots and holds fine without rebooting so my settings need to be changed.

Talk to me guys and gals.........

I'm no expert, and probably wrong at that, but isn't Interleave only to be used if you have multiple DIMMs installed?

And can't 1T cause instability?

I think Drake hit it on the head. Disable the 1T DRAM command. You'll lose only a touch of performance, but gain quite a lot of stability. I rarely use the 1T DRAM Command myself unless I am benching for fun.

BTW, as far as 4 way interleave, it works great on single sticks so leave it enabled. (Remember most single sticks have mutliple banks now).

Hi all,

Disabling the 1T DRAM Command seems to have done the trick.

Thanx all for the help and advice.

I am up to 1800 MHz, and will try higher, as time goes by

Take care........
