HI guys I am considering getting an Asus A7N8x and an XP2400+, with 2 sticks of crucial 256Mb PC2700 so i can use the twin bank feature of the nforce...
My question to you, the Intel guru's, is this:
Is there a P4 CPU and mobo combo that i can buy, for the same price or LESS, that will give similiar performance and features?
TIA
Nitan :)

Fara the joker as always, one assumes that is a no then...looks like the nforce is the way to go...
if your prepared to wait there is the granite bay chipset from intel,. and i belive SIS are producing a dual channel intel board.
for the intel i think you miggh have to wait and bit and spend ALOT
for the sis your going to have to wait, as for prices, not to bad me thinks.
the other option is wait for via to get its arse in gear and release the KT400A chipset which will have dual channel memory.
up to you mate

Hey nitan... took me 20 minutes to find this damn link again... but figured it would be better for u to read it than me explain it.
asus A7N8X (http://www.lostcircuits.com/motherboard/asus_a7n8x/4.shtml)
that little statement about the voltage regulators is what killed all the abit ka7's back in the day... just too much juice for too long. If your planning on really keepin the board... maybe turn to abit now, since they are using the 3-phase power regulation. Especially if not overclocking... the abit is sure to last you the long haul, well... at least longer than the asus. I think the kt266a chipset was the first time they started using this setup... it looks impressive. Anyway... just thought it would be a good read for yah! ;) take care...
