Hi all,

As posted HERE (http://www.liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=209), I owned a XPC SS51G. After the pin volt mod It increased the Vcore from 1.43 to 1.61 and allowed me to overclock my 2.0GHz northwood to 2.7GHz. It was not stable, so I added a second 80mm fan on top of the primary HS of the heat pipe cooling. This dropped my idle temps from 51c to 46c, and now I can loop 3DMark2001SE for 3 times (as recomended for stability test) and play games for hours without a single crash.

Note: Is 3 loops on 3DMark enough?

Do I really need to run prime 24h to call my system stable? I´m asking cause I don´t want to post fake results on the leaderboard.

cheers, KODE.

prime 95 or a continuously looped 3dmark for 24 hours would be a good show of stability...

i personally class a system as stable if i can actually use it at a certain speed, i find using and closing programs regurly over a week (my computer is on all the time) can make a marginally stable system crash

looks like I´ll have to work on more cooling here.

Well, I´m going to find the "Prime Stable" overclock and post it later.

thanx dicki!

Yeah, I like Prime95 and 3dMark for stability tests...i usually run both at the same time. If that doesnt crash a system after like 12-24 hours, its probably never going to crash hehe :)

What about my temps? since i never used a P4 before, I´m little lost here.

CPU temp idle: 46c

CPU temp full load: 55c

note: This is clocked to 2.7GHZ with Vcore at 1.61

mackeral...sounds famliar. Old ninjamicros member?

I´ve runned 12+ hours of 3DMark2001 on saturday at 2.66GHz, 2.7GHz was a no go. It run for about 6 hours and then flip back to desktop.

I also added a TT volcano 7 fan that runs at 5000rpm instead of 3500rpm from the original fan, helped a bit in stability.

Cheers KODE.
