Hey all.

My BIOS has the option to change it's startup logo, so I figgered why not? I try it, flash the new BIOS, and the picture looks horrible! I go through it again, and see that the image is converted to 16 colors :(. Any way to convert a file to 16 colors without having it come out looking horrible?

Here (http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/auction/Nov/200211273688947721871497.jpg) is a full color image that I converted to 16 colors.

And here (http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/auction/Nov/200211271020933577883472.jpg) is one that had less colors to begin with that I converted to 16 colors.

Both using adobe photoshop.

I have photoshop 6, but how would I go about converting an image? I'm not the one that uses it so I have no clue what I'm doing.

then when you get the box that pops up choose as follows:

palette: selective
colors: 16
forced: black and white
check transparency
dither: pattern

Not that I've ever changed BIOS startup logo.
So other then converting it to 16 colors, I don't know what file type you need or where to go from here.

Thanks man  It wasn't perfect, but definetly a step in the right direction. I think my only problem is figgering what resolution the computer starts out in, because the image looked a little squished. I think I can get it from here.

Thanks again!
