right,

slightly off tops (again) but here we go

have now got me stereo in the car.

at the mo, i have a rockford fosage power 12" in a 1.25 CU foot sealed box against the side of the boot, with the sub firing into the boot.

now, in previous cars with much smaller boots, thats givn pretty goot results, in this car, cos the boots much larger its robbing th sub of power.

so, where should it be positioned??

if you aint sure how i mean, let me know, will kock up alittle diagram to give you a better idea

Try facing the sub rearward should give a nice boost in that config

The problem with trunk configs is the trunk itself starts acting like a box. An overly large and poorly tuned one. Also, your fighting the rear seat insulation for sound.

What ive seen done is putting ports in the middle of the back seat which open up the air to the trunk (and it doesnt look TOO bad), which improves bass significantly.

How to position the sub? Bass is very non directional, so you may not notice a big difference. I had dual 12" in isobaric configuration, and the tuned port fired against the back seat, gave the best reponse. The speakers fired against the top of the trunk.

The center of the trunk will be the best. keep it at least 18" from any wall of the trunk at least, to make sure you get the bass reflex.

18" from any wall.

you must be joking!!!!!!

will have to play with it over the weekend (or just let it roll around my boot when i go around corners!!)

i dont really want it fireing backwards as that means getting a new box, and although i wont lose too much boot space, i will lose the ability to fold the rear seats down (its a hatchback) which i cant afford to lose really

mind you, if i do get a new box which fires backwards, it means the box would be big enough to have 2 subs in it, question is, can i find another one of these, and if so, can i afford it!!!
