Hmm, I have seen that pic somewhere before.
As for if you paid too much, thats hard to say but this is what Opp uses now http://www.xtwerkz.com/MX-EVA3.htm and it is $500 and Opp said he has never used anything as good as this before.

Well, I backed out of the deal, and feel pretty shitty about it. I tried to send him a PayPal for $400, but something goofed up and the PayPal failed (said something about my name not matching the checking account). Weird. So yesterday I said I would just send him a money order for the $400 instead.
Buuut, I dont know. I really think I need to spend that money on more important things right now. I just needed to buy a new PSU, the HDs are being RMAd, but I dont know if other parts in the system were damaged. I may be moving next month, my old crappy car needs ALOT of work, I may even have to get a new crappy car. Plus I just finished the cube, and I really dont have any desire to rip it back apart.
So, I had to back out of the deal. I think the PayPal thing was bad karma, just wasnt meant to be I guess. I really hope I didnt inconvenience this guy too badly.
But anyway, Im sure he still wants to sell it, and for $400 its a great deal for someone looking to get in to chilled water. This is probably one of the most powerful chillers around. Id love to see someone I know buy it off of him, and let me know what I missed out on hehe.
Too bad they didnt sell these at like BestBuy, I wouldnt feel so bad not buying it ;)

Hi all,
Isn't OPP using the quiet pc that he was testing?
Take care........

Yup, he's using the MX EVA3 phase change cooling. Looks pretty powerful, but on first sight the promoteia does a better job.
Here's a pic (http://www.icronticforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24502) of the water chiller I just bought from him. It's an oldie but i'm just gonna salvage it for the pelts. :)

Oh you got his pelt chiller...yeah that beast is pretty good...those are the swifty blocks I think.
Still gonna use the 80w pelts? Maybe use a few 226w units hehe :)

I dunno why, but pelts are very expensive around here (Belgium), perhaps because there is little interest..?
A 80W pelt costs about 50$ here, I can get them from OPP by buying his waterchiller at 25$ a piece... that's the only reason why i bought it: cheap vidcard cooling for me and my m8es :)
I don't think I'm gonna replace the 80W pelts with 226W models: that would cost me 500$, I can buy a promoteia for that! :D

which you did ;)
Belgian dudes are getting prometheia tattooed on their arms nowadays, I was talking to the guys of chip-con in Denmark and they asked me how the heck they got all those orders from Belgium these days. :D
Told him it was all due to me, earned me an extra tube of AS3 on my order ;-)
well, ontopic now, looks like some hefty piece of equipment to buy for 400 bucks... would've been nice

You liar :p (j/k ;))
I was the first to notice the prometeia (check Born2OC for that) and was second in ordering one :p
Anyway, I would be interested in that chiller, if their wasn't the high shipping cost.
I'll need some good cooling for my upcoming GF4 ;)

Oops, sorry about that :)
Well, I've got this (http://users.pandora.be/bernadette.peeters1/frigo/100-0013_IMG.JPG), It's an unit from an almost not used freezer. Danfoss R134a compressor TL5F102G (http://www.danfoss.com/compressors/pdf/datasheets/r134a_220v_50_60hz/t-series/TL5F_R134a_220V_50Hz_06-01_Cg42b202.pdf) , which would be quite nice to cool a vidcard, but the freezer is in such good condition that I'm hesitating in using it (got it for free :)) ... But I've got a backup now, Its a R404 cooling unit, dunno any specs yet.
ow and thx for the welcome :)
