How about one of those "quick reply" boxes at the bottom of the thread's? (Though I hate to say it: like ninjamicros ... or 2darkpark). It only shows up for people who are logged in, and is really nice where a quick reply is all thats required. For pic posting or other stuff you can still click the normal "post reply" button.

I don't know if its for a different version of this software or what, but maybe you could look into it? (if you haven't already :) ).

Just a thought :D

Hello Ranger,

I will certainly keep that one in mind. Currently, our BBS only has hacks to allow it to integrate with our vbPortal software. I have avoided standard hacks because VB3 will be released in full version soon, rendering all VB2 hacks moot.

If you can find the specific Quick-Reply hack information for me on the vb website, I will take a look and if its a quick patch, will add it in for ya.

However...I dont always like quick replies, and Im afraid that it will be abused. I rather like well thought out and planned responces. Will have an admin vote on this one.

Yeah I can understand the want to avoid spam, but it is nicer on any poor old dial-up users ;) :D (not that I'm one).
I don't think it'd create any real spamming, mainly because it is only available to people who are logged in anyway. And the quality of posters here is higher than most boards ;)

I'll have a hunt for it and see what I can find.

Im working on the new webserver as we speak. Im going to hold off on any more mods/changes on this board in order to spend more time on the new one. Ill be taking mod requests once i get the new board up and installed, so remind me then :)
