Hey guys,
I was junking out some laptops today (p2 333's) and i got a screen from one. I was wondering if anyone knew how or has seen an article on how to mount this sucker to my case and use it to view something. I don't know what i'am gonna watch or do with it, but i figured it would look cool.
Any ideals?
wes,
saw a nice mod someone had done.
taken a laptop, dis-assembled it and then mounted it all in a picture frame with a wireless lan and a wireless keyboard/mouse.
the screen as the picture and then all the bits nailed/screwed/duck taped to the frame and he was using it as a movie player/mp3 player.
loved the idea myself, but i think you might find it hard to figure out the wiring for the screen. if you find any info though, lemme know!
toodles

Hey wes ... I reckon it would be pretty cool to mount it in the side panel of your case like a window mod :D
It could be helpful for a server type pc, cause you wouldn't need a screen for it then :) (or for a "easy-to-travel" gaming server at LAN's etc). Or if you might want a mp3 box, or maybe just a dual-view (with your normal monitor), or something like that. :D
OMG ... i SO want one now to play with myself :D :D

hey ranger,
I kinda dropped the ideal... it's alot harder than i thought... i don't remember everything, but the lcd is digital and you have to convert it to analog.. wich u have to use these to lil boards and there like $200 so it's like a $350 job, a guy at the [H] did it a while back, if i can find the link i will post it.

bugger ... that sux :( I would have thought that you could just use a diff plug on the vid card or something. But I'm probably over simplifying it :)
