Compaq laptop for sale

Hey guys,
I'am trying to sell this for my sisters fiance. First off, I don't know how much he want's for it .. just offer him a price. Second, He really wants a palm, he said a palm and some money would be suffiecnt.

Here's what we got:

Compaq presario 1200
AMD K6-2 475Mhz
96Mb Ram
6Gig harddrive
24x Cd-rom
Floppy
13inch display ?
Onboard sound, modem, 1 Usb port
Laptop is in mint condition. Has normal wear and tear from a college student.

Also included:
Netgear FA-410 Pcmcia Network card.
External Zip 250 USB, Disks (not sure how many)
Deluxe carryin case.

Computer has win98se currently on it. If i can find the restore disks etc i will put it back to it's original state.

I'd like a laptop...but to be honest 90% of the used ones aren't worth what they sell for. Best bet is to throw that up on ebay, people gobble up latops on there like nobody's business. I dunno if they are just plain ignorant, or they just absolutely need to save that few hundred dollars a brandy new one would cost.

I'd offer $150 for it... but honestly, you can probably get double that, no joke. Take care,

I know what you mean, ebay was/is our last resort. I know at the computer store i work at we sell laptops similar to his for $450-$500 depending on the accessories.

Hey Wes, I agree with 4.6 power, you should just toss it up on ebay as your first resort.

You mentioned the seller wanted a palm. I am not sure of what is available in your area as far as stores ( I am guessing that in ohio walmart is the end all and be all of electronics :D ) but I am sure he could get a cheap palm or a clone for under $100.
Here in San Diego Fry's electronics has some for as low as $80 sometimes.
I have a palm Vx. It helps me a lot because I have a bad memory but then I forget to use it and it ends up sitting in the glove compartment for like months at a time.

I have to agree here... PCs sell like crap on Ebay, but notebooks do extremely well, especially now that its close to the holiday season.

Its at least worth $300 and maybe upwards of $500. Id throw it on Ebay with a reserve of $300. Should be enough to get a decent palm.

The thing that hurts its value is the fact that its a compaq tho hehe :) Make sure you list all the parts out specifically, and let people know the condition of the battery and the charger. People expect to have to get a new battery for a used laptop, and remember those are $100 (same if its missing the charger), so dont be too pushy about the price :) If it has a newish battery, you can probably get $50 more for it.

i have one almost like that that ive been trying to get rid of for a while, but no luck, it has like a zip module and a sweet case :) lol, probably ebay also....
