Doom III Alpha?

What's all this I'm seeing about a Doom III leaked Alpha?

Has anyone here got their hands on it? Good? Is it worth me going and looking for it?

Yeah I heard it leaked hehe :) Gonna try to download it from somewhere. Still trying for Hitman 2 and GTA3: Vice City. Both of which i want to try before I go to Ebworld. I didnt like the original hitman so much...was too damn hard.

What do the patches do?

I can't even get past the first guard in Hitman2 :)

My friend just got Vice City and THSP4 for xbox. Got to go over and play a little.

I have no idea what the patches do. I'm going to have to find the Alpha of Doom and try it. :D

The patches address two issues...a framerate fix for rendering under open g/l, and added multiplayer capability.

The alpha is loaded with bugs. Playability is about zero. BUT....the graphics are absolutely gorgeous! By far the best I've ever seen. And the the atmosphere is simply chilling.

This game could single handedly drag the desktop PC out of it's slump...yes...it looks to be that good indeed...not to mention it will require some serious hardware to enjoy it in all it's glory.

Nope...technically all source code is protected by copyright. Although I am not a copyright attorney, I can assure you that distributing alpha or beta code is not legal.

That said, I was really just kidding around anyway re: the warez stuff...and trying to make a point. Here at LN we do not mind the sharing the information...but we do not condone or allow direct file sharing of illegal copies of programs on the open forums. Sometimes it's a fine line to walk.:)

Is hitman 2 out for PC? I liked the first hitman, just to darn hard. I think I need to take a trip to fry's electronics and check on the game selection.

I finally found Doom3 last night. Already got Hitman2 :)

Fixed the crashing bug but OMG does this thing run slow. It looks amazing tho. Its barely playable on my 8500. Its configured for some pretty high detail though. It really could use a configuration program...

ill have to mess with the keybindings to make it more playable.

load the doom.exe
use the ~ key to get to the console (if you choose single player, game will crash)
you can load e3 demo maps 1-3 using one of the following commands:
map e3/e3_1
map e3/e3_2
map e3/e3_3"
