Hello I have had a long time problem with a kr7a-133 motherboard, basically i dont use it cos i dont trust it. In a troubleshooting excercise i have just moved all the bits (and i mean everything bar power supply) from one case into another, figuring it would test the power supply which I suspect as being a main cause of my troubles.

Now a while back over a NM mdzpa suggested upping the voltage to see if that helped (it didn't) but I wrote down the figures in case i needed to put them back However...

in this new case once turned on all the defaults have been restored (eg clock, and showing 1200 cpu instead of xp1900) I have set them but noticed the VOltage figures are completely different to what they were in other case and naturally I am concerned.

in old case auto voltage was 2.55 and i changed it as suggested to 2.65

in new case it shows as 1.75 and i worried in case i have set or not set something i should not have or made some other error, Just worried in case the right components are not getting the right volts/current/electrical whatsits:)

Can somebody tell me if something is wrong or put my mind to rest please.

Bozo,

That 1.75 is your Core voltage, Its right on the money. I don't where you got the 2.55 from, that would be your memory voltage DDR, and thats right on the money also.

Phew!!!

Big sigh of relief, I am very ignorant of the electric side of things half expected smoke to start pouring out which is why I was after a quick response..sorry if it seemed abrupt:)

I shall now change the other memory settings to those suggested by mdzpa as they shaved 30 mins off the time it took the pc to complete a seti unit:)

I will no doubt be back with many more stupid questions as I have been fed up looking at what was to be my main pc sitting there not being used.

thanks for the reply.

edit:

oops - apologies that is mdzcpa - helps to get sombodies name right, wont get much help insulting people:rolleyes:

just been hunting through the bios implementing your other suggested changes:)

Too tired to do any more tonight took me hours to move everything from one case to another, still it's all practice. It is 4.30 am here so i am calling it quits for tonight, upcoming questions may include fans and why they dont show in my bios and gf3 questions once i fit it if it does not work (didn't in old case 300w) but worked quite happily in a pc with a 250 watt supply:confused:

Anyway off to bed shortly. Thanks a lot.
