Okay, I've been burning copies of this game for folks. I can burn it okay using 1:1 copy with my Sony 40x USB2 drive. UT2003 use SecuROM protection which isnt too bad.
The problem (and you lan gamers should be aware), is that without cracking the UT2003 exe, even 1:1 burned copies of this game WONT play in a CD-Burner drive! 1:1 copies will play just fine in a non-burner drive however.
SecuRom actually checks the CD drive to see if its a burner, and accesses the functions to determine if the CD inserted is burnable or not (just like Nero knows). The result is that you cant play the cd cause the software knows its on a burned disk.
Im looking for a solution to either block software from recognizzing a burned disk in the cd-r drive, or cracking the UT2003 exe.
Of course...I already own the game. Maybe you should just buy it too :)
