Hi folks,
I'm nearly ready to set up my new video editing box. But I need cables! I need at least a 25ft S-Video cable to go from my PC to the TV box. Does this exist? Help?
Not decided on audio cable yet. I have a 25ft RCA audio cable (good stuff, used to be in the car system) which I can use, but I imagine I'll move to Optical Spdif eventually. So if the svideo cable has a spdif cable built in, that would be great.
Hi Player0,
25 ft? hummmm, i tried it before with RCA cable, but , there's a loss of signal, i had to mount myself using a thin cable, very thin cable.I think the best goal is optical cable (probably very expensive).About a s-video cable, i dunno, because i could never find a cable as that, 25ft, but i'm just thinking about a loss of signal for s-video too.

hi tom,
I've never seen one that long. The longest i've seen one was 12Ft, but that was also svideo to composite. There's a website where we get the above mention cables at for school. I just can't think of it off hand. I'll let you know when i get to school tomarrow.

hey :)
If you are talking about what I think you are then, yeah, they do exist. I have a 10 metre (30ft) S-video to Scart lead. You should be able to pick them up from a shop dedicated to things like gig lighting/PA systems, or maybe even a decent Hi-fi shop. Thats where I found mine.
Hope that helps!

Hi thanks for the tip. Yes, I have actually seen some 25ft or better S-video cables online. No really good shops where I am. I found an Svideo coupler though, and I will buy two good Monster Cable 4 meter cables. Plus, they have the audio cables built in too, so as long as the coupler work okay...i should be golden.
Id still rather go with Componant video but I cant find any tv-out cards that support it. Guess the ports on my new tv are just wasted then :)
