View Full Version : plastic acrylic dangerous for hardware?

plastic acrylic seems to generate/conduct static electricity quite well. Would you all recommend against mounting hardware on such a material?

no experience of building cases out of the stuff, but if i were, i'd prolly spray the inside of it with a fine layer of antistatic spray (which hopefully is colourless). These can be bought from electrical/electronic suppliers.

Thanks for the tip, I found a can of anti static spray at radio shack and applied it. Seemed to make quite a noticible difference , simply rubbing my hand on it didnt make my hair stand up and make a whole bunch of poping noises. although it doesnt say anywhere on the can how long it lasts it appears to be doing its job. It costs $5 and wipes on clear, I put some garbage hardware the case and i guess ill say it works if the hardware lasts more then a month
