I've heard of programs you run that effectively reduce the tempurature of your CPU while you do not use the computer. Can anyone point me in the direction of one?

CPUCool works good, and can be had at podien.de

Another question... what could cause an abrupt tempurature increase? I've been at a stable 123-136 (idle - 1 hr of UT2k3 demo) scince I bought a HSF to replace the stock one, and scince yesterday I've been seeing 130-151!
My setup is a Cooler Master HHC-001 (http://www.coolermaster.com.hk/en/products/cooler/hhc-001.html) with ASIII and an Athlon XP 2100+

I'm just curious about something, seeing as I have no real answer for you (Sorry I'm a noob to cooling =( *sniffle*). But... when you say 130... do you mean... celcius or farenheight?

Whoa, old thread.
Haha, those temps were at stock speeds. Now I run overclocked and lapped the base of my HHC-001 and have the same temps.
It's generally better accepted if you give your temps in Celcius, as a great part of the overclocking community isn't American.
